Mayor John Tucker has a proven track record as Mayor of Mt. Vernon, IN. He deserves your vote for re-election, because he has earned your vote. Mayor John Tucker knows how to plan, organize, execute and complete projects our city needs. He, with his Tucker team in place, has guided the city to a new state of the art water filtration system. One of the current projects under construction is the new sewer system for the city. Phase I is complete, and Phase II is moving along on schedule. Phase I of the new Riverfront Project has also been completed. Phase II of this project will complete with a new riverfron amphitheatre, which will add beauty to our riverfront in place of old silo's that were eye sores for years! Mayor John Tucker believes there isn't anything we can't accomplish by working together.

The Tucker Team is not only a team for now, but it is your team for the future. Each member provides expertise needed to make important decisions for our community. Your team is busy working towards the new Riverfront. When that project is finished Mt. Vernon citizen's will have a wonderful place to meet at a family orientated place of beauty.

The Riverfront Project is just the
start of a trail project that will travel
Main Street, go by the library, then, to Brittlebank Park, finishing at the riverfront.
A committee was formed in 2008 who created what is now known as the River Days Festival. Each year this festival continues to grow in popularity.

In 2010 Mayor John Tucker wanted something for the youth. Another committee was formed to provide "Christmas on Main Street" Ths event began witha parade down Main Street , and provided activities at the Skating Rink for the youth. Mayor Tucker has made himself available to the citizen's of Mt. Vernon. He has made many visit's to our schools to meet with the young people of the community. Mayor John Tucker feels that when we all work together, amazing things can happen.
